YouTube TV subscribers who have been without ESPN, ABC, and other Disney networks for more than a week will receive a twenty dollar credit. This credit can be applied to their next billing statement. A YouTube spokesperson confirmed the news, stating the credits are currently rolling out to subscribers. Customers will receive email instructions on how to apply the credit.
Disney’s channels were removed from the YouTube TV service on October 31st. YouTube stated that if a new deal is reached, the channels will be restored within a matter of hours. This dispute, like similar ones in the past, appears to center on pricing. YouTube has criticized Disney for a proposed price increase, while Disney claims YouTube is refusing to pay fair rates for its channels.
The last contract dispute between YouTube TV and Disney occurred in 2022. That incident resulted in a fifteen dollar credit for customers after Disney programming was unavailable for a single day.
