Whoop, the fitness band company, has officially launched Whoop Advanced Labs. The service became available on Tuesday after a preview in May. The company reported that approximately 350,000 people had joined the waiting list for it.
Whoop Advanced Labs provides health-screening blood tests through Quest Diagnostics. These tests analyze a range of markers, including calcium and white blood cell counts. The platform then combines these lab results with the Whoop band’s own data. The band continuously tracks activity, sleep, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. By integrating both data sources, the service aims to deliver more personalized wellness guidance.
The pricing for Advanced Labs starts at $199 for one annual test. A package of two tests per year costs $349, and four tests per year are $599. The Whoop device requires a separate membership, which ranges from $200 to $350 annually based on the chosen wearable strap’s features.
Whoop is part of a growing trend of startups that offer wellness through subscription-based, lower-cost blood screenings. Another example is Dr. Mark Hymen’s Function Health, which charges $500 per year for quarterly tests and includes optional body imaging. Fountain Life, a longevity company founded by Tony Robbins and Peter Diamandis, is another player in this space, with annual costs reported to exceed $20,000.
