United Airlines is adding new features to its mobile app to help travelers navigate airports more easily. A key addition is estimated security wait times for its major U.S. hubs, showing both standard and TSA PreCheck lanes. This is especially useful given ongoing airport staffing challenges.
The app now provides personalized, turn-by-turn directions to connecting gates with walking times. It can alert you if a plane might be held for a tight connection. For disrupted travel, it offers automatic rebooking options and can provide vouchers.
New baggage features include integration with Apple’s Find My network to help locate lost luggage. Travelers will also get text updates with radar maps showing how distant weather may impact their flights.
