TechCrunch Disrupt 2025: How to watch the Startup Battlefield finale, Cluely,Solana, SF’s Mayor

Today’s Disrupt Stage programming begins at 10 a.m. PT and concludes at approximately 4:15 p.m. PT.

The day starts at 10 a.m. PT with a session titled Rebuilding the City that Builds Startups. San Francisco’s new mayor, Daniel Lurie, will share his vision for revitalizing the city’s startup ecosystem. He will discuss topics from housing and public safety to innovation policy, explaining why San Francisco remains a premier launchpad for founders.

At 10:30 a.m. PT, there will be a conversation with investor Elad Gil. Before ChatGPT was widely known, Gil had already provided seed funding to startups like Perplexity, Character.AI, and Harvey. His investment history also includes companies such as Airbnb, Airtable, Anduril, Brex, Checkr, Coinbase, Deel, Figma, Flexport, Gitlab, Gusto, Instacart, Notion, Opendoor, Pinterest, Rippling, Square, and Stripe.

At 10:55 a.m. PT, Aaron Levie of Box will speak in a session called Survive, Scale, Reinvent: Lessons from a Cloud OG. Levie built Box before cloud computing was mainstream, and the company continues to thrive. He will discuss how to maintain innovation within a public company, the potential of AI in enterprise software, and why reinvention is critical in today’s tech landscape. This session promises practical advice for building lasting companies in the age of AI.

Also at 10:55 a.m. PT, there will be a Startup Battlefield Alumni Update. Past Battlefield competitors return to the stage to share their progress. This year will feature an update from the 2024 company, geCKo Materials.

The grand final of TechCrunch’s iconic startup competition, The Startup Battlefield Final, begins at 11:25 a.m. PT. Watch the top five teams from around the world pitch to expert judges as they compete for the Startup Battlefield Cup and one hundred thousand dollars.

At 2:15 p.m. PT, Solana’s co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko will take the stage for a session called Crypto’s Next Chapter. He will share where crypto is headed, from the memecoin trend to real-world finance, and explain why he is optimistic. He will also discuss Solana’s breakout year, the challenges of scaling blockchain technology, and how builders can capitalize as crypto moves toward mass adoption.

At 2:40 p.m. PT, Kevin Rose speaks in a session titled From Digg to Deals: Kevin Rose on Reinvention and Investing. Rose last spoke at Disrupt in 2012 during Digg’s notable pivot. He returns to discuss relaunching Digg with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and what that experience taught him about product and community. As an active early-stage investor in consumer tech and crypto, Rose will share how he evaluates founders, identifies new opportunities, and applies his entrepreneurial lessons to investing.

At 3:00 p.m. PT, Roy Lee, the founder of Cluely, will take the stage for Building, Breaking, and Betting Big. Lee will share how he is building one of the most discussed AI startups, why courting controversy can be a growth strategy, and what it takes to stand out in the competitive consumer tech market.

At 3:30 p.m. PT, NBA champion and investor Tristan Thompson will speak in From Courtside to Code: Tristan Thompson on AI, Sports, and Startups. Thompson has built a portfolio that bridges sports, culture, and technology. He will share how he channels his competitive drive into ventures like World Mobile, Basketball Fun, Axon Dao, and Somnia, and why he believes athletes have a unique advantage in building the next generation of consumer and Web3 companies.

The event will conclude with the announcement of the Winner of the Startup Battlefield 2025.
