Spotify has raised prices for its subscription plan in the United States for the third time in three years. The monthly individual plan has increased from $11.99 to $12.99 per month. The company notified its paid users of this change via email, stating the new price will apply starting with their next monthly billing cycle.
In a blog post, Spotify explained that occasional updates to pricing reflect the value the service delivers. The company stated these adjustments enable it to continue offering the best possible experience and to benefit artists.
This move was anticipated. In November 2025, a Financial Times report indicated the audio platform was set to raise U.S. prices in the first quarter of 2026. Analysts from JPMorgan predicted this price hike could increase Spotify’s revenue by $500 million.
Spotify previously increased prices in other markets, including the United Kingdom and Switzerland, last year. The company’s first U.S. price increase occurred in 2023, when the monthly plan rose from $9.99 to $10.99. This was followed by another one-dollar increase in June 2024, bringing the price to $11.99.
According to its third quarter 2025 results, Spotify has more than 281 million paid users globally. Twenty-five percent of those subscribers are from North America. In addition to the United States, Spotify is also raising prices in Estonia and Latvia.
