Spotify raises its subscription prices in the U.S. again

Spotify has increased the price of its subscription plan in the United States for the third time in three years. The monthly plan has risen from $11.99 to $12.99 per month. The company notified its paid users of the new price via email, stating it will apply from their next monthly billing cycle.

In a blog post, Spotify explained that occasional updates to pricing reflect the value the service delivers. The company stated these adjustments enable it to continue offering the best possible experience and to benefit artists.

This move was anticipated. In November 2025, the Financial Times reported that the audio platform was set to raise U.S. prices in the first quarter of 2026. Analysts from JPMorgan predicted this price hike could increase Spotify’s revenue by $500 million.

Spotify first raised prices in the U.S. in 2023, moving from $9.99 to $10.99 per month. It implemented another increase of one dollar per month for the individual subscription plan in June 2024. The company has also made similar price hikes in other markets, including the United Kingdom and Switzerland last year.

According to its third quarter 2025 results, Spotify has more than 281 million paid users globally. Twenty-five percent of those subscribers are from North America. In addition to the United States, Spotify is also raising prices in Estonia and Latvia.
