Snapchat has announced the launch of creator subscriptions. The feature is starting in alpha with select creators in the United States beginning February 23.
This new program allows users to buy monthly subscriptions directly to creators. Early participants include Jeremiah Brown, Harry Jowsey, and Skai Jackson. Creators set their own monthly price, with Snapchat providing recommended tier options.
A subscription unlocks exclusive benefits for users. These include access to subscriber-only content, priority replies to a creator’s public Stories, and an ad-free viewing experience for that creator’s Stories.
Snapchat describes this as a new way for creators to earn money, expanding on existing programs like the Unified Monetization Program and the Snap Star Collab Studio. The company stated that Creator Subscriptions introduce a premium layer of connection directly into how users already engage with creators across Stories, Chat, and replies.
According to its fourth quarter 2025 results, Snapchat reached 946 million daily active users. The platform also reported that the number of U.S.-based users posting to its Spotlight feature grew over 47% year-over-year.
The company plans to expand the subscription program to Snap Stars in Canada, the United Kingdom, and France in the coming weeks.
This move follows similar offerings from rival companies. Meta, for instance, also allows creators to offer subscriptions on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, providing users with exclusive content and badges.
In other company news, Snap spun out its hardware division into a new standalone entity called Specs last month.
