For years, Google Photos users who wanted to enjoy their photos and videos on a big screen had limited options. They could cast content to an Android TV or sideload the app. This is now changing for Samsung TV owners. Samsung announced it plans to bring Google Photos directly to its televisions starting in 2026.
The initial integration will display curated photos and videos through the Memories feature. This feature will be exclusive to Samsung TVs for the first six months. To view their content, users will need to sign in to their Google account on the television.
Samsung also outlined plans to add AI-powered features in the future. These will include Nano Banana-powered templates, image generation, and editing tools. The Remix feature, which allows users to convert an existing photo into a different style, is also planned.
A company representative stated that Google Photos serves as a home for people’s memories, helping to organize them and bring them to life. Bringing the service to Samsung TVs will help people enjoy their favorite photos on a larger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways.
