PraxisPro raises $6M seed from AlleyCorp to coach medical sales reps

Cam Badger began his career in sales at a pharmaceutical company. He expected to find structure and mentorship, but instead encountered fragmented training, inconsistent coaching, and no scalable way to learn meaningfully. After four years as a sales rep and then a sales trainer, he moved to a medical startup. There he met Bhrugu Giri, and together they discussed the common shortcomings of sales representatives in life science companies, including pharma businesses and medical device startups.

The duo decided to address this problem by launching PraxisPro, a sales coaching platform specifically designed for medical fields. Badger believes that better salespeople will help get more treatments into doctors’ hands, which ultimately benefits patients. He stated that when commercial interactions with healthcare providers are ineffective, patients miss out on therapies that could meaningfully change their lives.

PraxisPro launched in 2023, though its first product was not released until 2025. The company recently announced a six million dollar seed funding round led by AlleyCorp. Other participants in the round include FlyBridge, South Loop Ventures, and Zeal Capital Partners.

PraxisPro is a standalone platform that can also integrate into enterprise software. It develops small language models trained on life science data to help companies navigate the specific nuances and context required for interactions with healthcare providers. From this foundation, the company created an AI agent that helps commercial sales teams practice their communication skills before engaging with customers.

Badger emphasized that communication is critical in medical sales, where teams are often preoccupied with staying compliant, as each company must ensure its sales messaging adheres to legal frameworks. Beyond helping train sales reps for compliance, PraxisPro aims to better equip them to communicate patient needs effectively to healthcare providers.

Currently, a salesperson might have fifteen interactions with a healthcare provider as part of the sales process. PraxisPro features a conversational AI that lets sales reps practice and plan for these interactions, preparing them for typical discussions and potential pushback.

While other AI role-playing tools exist, Badger notes his platform is different because it is trained on smaller, specialized data sets and focuses specifically on the life sciences sector. The new capital will be directed toward research and development.

In many ways, this is the tool Badger wished he had when he was a sales rep years ago. He struggled initially and nearly lost his job, but eventually worked his way up to become one of his company’s top performers. Now, he wants to give others that same advantage. He said that by giving commercial teams the ability to prepare, practice, and engage at a higher level consistently and responsibly, they are not just improving commercial operations but helping ensure innovative therapies reach the patients who need them most.
