Poe, the Quora app that brings together different AI models into one platform, is launching group chat functionality. The company announced on Monday that users worldwide will now be able to start group chats with up to two hundred people. Within a single conversation, groups can collaborate across more than two hundred AI models, including text, image, video, and audio generators.
This launch follows just days after OpenAI’s ChatGPT began piloting group chats in several markets. This move could transform chatbots from a one-on-one interaction into a collaborative space where users engage with friends, family, or colleagues.
Quora states that adding group chats to Poe could enable new types of interactive experiences for AI users. For example, families or friends could use the feature to plan a trip together using search and research models. Teams could brainstorm images for mood boards using various image models, or groups could play trivia games together using quiz bots on the app.
The group chats allow users to work together using any combination of AI models or creator-made bots. Some of the available models include Claude 4.5 Sonnet, ElevenLabs v3, Eleven Labs Music, Nano Banana, GPT-5.1, Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, o3 Deep Research, Sora 2 Pro, and Veo 3.1, among many others.
Poe users can start a group chat from the app’s home screen on the website. As you chat, the chat history syncs in real-time across your devices. This allows you to start a conversation on a desktop computer and then continue it on a mobile device without losing the thread.
Quora developed this feature over the past six months. The company plans to continue improving group chats in the weeks following its launch based on user feedback. The company shared that it believes the space for group interactions mediated by AI and collaboration opportunities with AI is vast and currently under-explored. The product also allows anyone to create a custom bot on Poe and share it for others to use in their own groups. Quora expressed excitement to see the use cases that everyone discovers.
