Pickle Robot adds Tesla veteran as first CFO

Pickle Robot, a company that builds autonomous unloading robots for warehouses and distribution centers, has appointed a new chief financial officer. This announcement comes just days after a report of a major new deal with UPS.

The Charlestown, Massachusetts-based company hired Jeff Evanson as its CFO. Evanson had been consulting for Pickle Robot since September and recently joined the company full time. This marks the first CFO role for the company.

Evanson brings experience from his previous position as vice president of global investor relations and strategy at Tesla, where he worked from 2011 to 2017. In that role, he worked directly with Elon Musk and assisted in raising debt and equity financing to support the launch of multiple Tesla vehicle lines and company acquisitions.

His appointment coincides with a period of reported expansion for Pickle Robot. Founded in 2018, the company has raised around $100 million in venture capital. It is now reportedly expanding its partnership with shipping giant UPS. According to reports, UPS is investing $120 million to purchase 400 of Pickle’s robots, with deployment scheduled to begin in late 2026 and early 2027.

Pickle Robot declined to comment on the recent UPS news. A company spokesperson did confirm that UPS has been a customer for a few years but would not confirm when the partnership began.
