At CES 2026, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang took the stage to announce a new partnership with Siemens. The collaboration aims to bring Siemens’ electronic design automation software to run on Nvidia’s GPUs. The goal is to significantly accelerate the computationally intensive process of chip design.
As chip features shrink and transistors grow more numerous, the design process demands greater computational power. By leveraging Nvidia’s hardware, the companies intend to speed up chip development cycles.
Beyond acceleration, Nvidia and Siemens are pursuing a broader vision of digital simulation. They plan to create detailed digital facsimiles, or digital twins, of components ranging from individual chips to entire server racks. This allows for thorough testing and validation in a virtual environment before any physical construction begins.
As Jensen Huang explained during the Siemens keynote, this deep partnership is ultimately focused on the future. The aim is to build and refine complex systems like the Vera Rubin chip architecture first as a perfect digital twin.
