Semiconductor giant Nvidia is looking to invest at least five hundred million dollars, and up to one billion dollars, in Poolside. Poolside builds artificial intelligence models for software development. This potential investment was reported by Bloomberg, which cited sources familiar with the matter.
This investment would be part of a two billion dollar funding round that Poolside is currently raising. The funding round would value Poolside at twelve billion dollars. According to the report, Nvidia’s investment could increase to one billion dollars if the company successfully completes the rest of the funding round.
This would not be Nvidia’s first investment in Poolside. The company previously backed Poolside in its five hundred million dollar Series B funding round in October 2024.
Nvidia is already a prolific investor in artificial intelligence startups and has been broadening its portfolio to include diverse sectors. For example, in October Nvidia said it was exploring a five hundred million dollar investment into United Kingdom-based self-driving company Wayve. Last month, the company took a five billion dollar stake in Intel, with plans for future chip collaboration.
