MrBeast reportedly plans to launch a phone company

MrBeast, the popular 27-year-old YouTuber famous for his elaborate challenges and massive giveaways, is entering a new business arena. He is reportedly launching his own phone company. According to a report that viewed a leaked investor deck, MrBeast is planning to launch a mobile phone service next year. The report also indicated that MrBeast and executives at Beast Industries are considering expansions into fintech and mobile gaming.

The YouTuber’s plan involves establishing a mobile virtual network operator, or MVNO. This strategy allows a company to offer mobile phone service by using the existing networks of major carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. By partnering with one of these established operators, MrBeast can provide affordable rates and reliable service without the enormous cost of building his own mobile network infrastructure from the ground up.

This approach mirrors the tactics used by other celebrities, such as Ryan Reynolds with Mint Mobile, which was sold to T-Mobile for approximately $1.35 billion. T-Mobile itself provides an MVNO solution and has collaborated with MrBeast on previous projects.

The upcoming mobile venture is a key part of MrBeast’s larger strategy to diversify his brand. His business portfolio already includes the food companies Feastables and Lunchly, as well as a toy line. This new phone company could be a significant step toward achieving overall profitability for his business empire.

Although MrBeast has a colossal fan base of about 430 million YouTube subscribers, his media business is not currently profitable. Last year, his side hustle, Feastables, generated around $250 million in sales and over $20 million in profit. In contrast, his media business, which includes his YouTube channel and a reality competition show on Prime Video, lost nearly $80 million.
