Microsoft Azure is down, affecting 365, Xbox, Minecraft, and others

Microsoft Azure is experiencing a significant outage this Wednesday. The problems began around noon Eastern Time. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue on the service’s status page.

According to the company, they suspect that an inadvertent configuration change triggered the problem. Microsoft has not provided an estimated time for when service will be restored.

Multiple Microsoft services have been affected by this outage. These include Microsoft 365, Xbox, and Minecraft. Websites from other businesses, such as Costco and Starbucks, are also inaccessible as a result.

This outage occurs just hours before Microsoft is scheduled to announce its earnings results this afternoon.

The incident follows a recent outage experienced by Amazon AWS a week ago. That previous incident affected various websites, banks, and certain government services.
