Meta announced on Monday that it has appointed former Trump advisor Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice chairman of the company. Powell McCormick will be a member of the company’s management team and will help guide Meta’s overall strategy and execution.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg commented on the appointment in a blog post. He stated that Dina’s experience at the highest levels of global finance, combined with her deep relationships around the world, makes her uniquely suited to help Meta manage this next phase of growth.
Before joining Meta, Powell McCormick was working as deputy national security advisor to President Donald Trump. Former President Trump celebrated the news on Truth Social, calling her a fantastic and very talented person who served his administration with strength and distinction.
Powell McCormick’s background also includes service under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during the George W. Bush administration. Prior to her government roles, she spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs as a partner in senior leadership positions.
This hiring follows another recent high-profile appointment at Meta. Last week, the company hired Curtis Joseph Mahoney, a former Microsoft legal executive who also served as a deputy U.S. trade representative during Trump’s first term, as its chief legal officer.
