How to use the new ChatGPT app integrations, including DoorDash, Spotify, Uber, and others

OpenAI now offers app integrations within ChatGPT. This feature allows you to connect your accounts directly to ChatGPT and ask the assistant to perform tasks for you. For example, with a Spotify integration, you can instruct ChatGPT to create personalized playlists that will appear directly in your Spotify app.

To begin, ensure you are logged into ChatGPT. Then, type the name of the app you wish to use at the start of your prompt. ChatGPT will guide you through the sign-in and connection process. If you prefer to set up multiple integrations at once, navigate to the Settings menu, select Apps and Connectors, browse the available apps, and choose the ones you like. This will direct you to the sign-in page for each selected app.

It is important to understand that connecting your account means you are sharing your app data with ChatGPT. Always review the permissions you are granting when linking accounts. For instance, connecting your Spotify account allows ChatGPT to see your playlists, listening history, and other personal information. While sharing this data helps personalize your experience, you should consider your comfort with this level of access if you have privacy concerns.

You can disconnect any app at any time directly from the Settings menu.

Several apps are currently available. The integration with Booking.com is designed to assist travelers, especially first-time visitors seeking suggestions on where to stay. After linking your account, you can ask ChatGPT to find hotels in your preferred city based on your dates, budget, party size, and preferences like proximity to public transport. The process aims to be more intuitive than searching directly on the Booking.com site, and you can be specific with requests such as options with breakfast included. When you find a hotel you like, you can open the Booking.com listing to complete your reservation.

The Canva integration is a helpful tool for graphic designers and anyone needing to generate visual content quickly. Once connected, you can ask ChatGPT to design items like a slide deck about a quarterly roadmap or a poster for a business. You can specify fonts, color schemes, formats, and exact dimensions. While AI-generated designs may occasionally have imperfections like distorted images or spelling errors, some users find this a useful starting point before jumping into Canva to make final adjustments.

Coursera’s integration helps you quickly discover the best online courses for your skill level. You can ask ChatGPT to find an intermediate-level course on a topic like Python. The chatbot can compare options by rating, duration, and cost, and provide a summary of what each course covers before you enroll.

DoorDash’s integration aims to save time on meal planning and grocery shopping. Users can ask the chatbot for a meal plan and instantly add all ingredients to their DoorDash cart for review and checkout. This feature is currently available only in the U.S., with participating retailers including Kroger, Safeway, Fairway Markets, and Wegmans.

With the Expedia integration, ChatGPT can display hotel and flight options without leaving the chat. It can find trips that fit your travel dates, budget, and party size. You can narrow results with requests like showing only four-star hotels. When you see something you like, you proceed to Expedia to finalize and book your trip.

The Figma integration allows you to ask ChatGPT to generate diagrams, flow charts, and product roadmaps. This is helpful for turning ideas from brainstorming sessions into tangible visuals. You can upload files and ask the chatbot to create a roadmap with milestones, deliverables, and deadlines for your team.

One of the most helpful aspects of the Spotify integration is the ability to quickly create playlists and receive song recommendations tailored to your tastes. You can ask for a playlist based on your mood or one featuring only tracks by a favorite band. ChatGPT can also suggest new artists, playlists, audiobooks, and podcast episodes, and perform actions like adding or removing items from your library.

Target launched a beta version of its ChatGPT integration ahead of Black Friday. This feature lets shoppers ask for gift suggestions and quickly create a shopping basket with multiple items. For example, you can request ideas for a movie night, and the chatbot will provide a curated selection of Target items to add to your cart. You can then purchase using your Target account and choose from same-day pickup, in-store pickup, or standard shipping.

The Uber integration makes it easy to find ride options, which is especially useful in a new location. You can set up your trip in ChatGPT and then complete the ride request and payment in the Uber app. This is currently available only in the U.S. for on-demand rides in options like UberX, UberXL, Comfort, and Black. An Uber Eats integration for U.S. users also allows you to explore local restaurants and menus within ChatGPT before completing payment in the Uber Eats app.

The Zillow integration can make searching for a new home more straightforward. Using a simple text prompt, you can find homes that meet your criteria, applying filters for price range, number of bedrooms, or specific neighborhoods to make the search process efficient and tailored.

Looking ahead, OpenAI has announced plans to welcome additional partners soon, including OpenTable, PayPal, and Walmart, with launches planned for 2026. The rollout of ChatGPT’s app integrations is currently limited to the U.S. and Canada, with users in Europe and the U.K. excluded for now.
