Google’s AI chatbot Gemini has reached over 750 million monthly active users. This milestone, reported in the company’s fourth-quarter 2025 earnings, highlights the rapid consumer adoption that has made Gemini a prominent player in the AI space. The growth is substantial, as the service reported 650 million monthly active users just the previous quarter.
In comparison, Meta AI has reported nearly 500 million monthly users. Despite its strong growth, Gemini still trails behind its biggest rival, ChatGPT, which had around 810 million monthly active users in late 2025.
This new user figure follows the launch of Gemini 3, which showcases the company’s most advanced model yet. Google claims it provides responses with an unprecedented level of depth and nuance. CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted that the introduction of Gemini 3 was a positive driver for the company’s growth, emphasizing that continued investment will maintain this momentum.
To appeal to budget-conscious consumers, Google recently rolled out a more affordable plan called Google AI Plus, priced at $7.99 per month. While this plan is expected to drive further growth, it was made available too recently to have influenced the latest quarterly figures. Philipp Schindler, Google’s chief business officer, noted during the investor call that the company is focused on both a free tier and subscriptions and is seeing great growth.
Gemini’s expansion is a key part of Alphabet’s overall financial performance. The company surpassed $400 billion in annual revenue for the first time this quarter, an achievement Google attributes to the increased demand within its AI division. To support this growth and compete with companies like Nvidia, Google recently introduced the latest generation of its TPU AI accelerator chip, called Ironwood.
Reflecting on the results, CEO Sundar Pichai stated that the launch of Gemini 3 was a major milestone. He reported that first-party models like Gemini now process over 10 billion tokens per minute via direct API use by customers. Pichai also noted that Search saw more usage than ever before, with AI continuing to drive an expansionary moment for the company.
