Elon Musk will settle $128M lawsuit with former Twitter execs

Elon Musk will settle a lawsuit for one hundred twenty-eight million dollars with four former Twitter executives. He fired these executives after taking over the company in 2022. One of Musk’s first actions upon buying Twitter was to dismiss CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and top lawyers Sean Edgett and Vijaya Gadde.

The four executives never received their severance payments. They claim this is because they tried to hold Musk to his forty-four billion dollar commitment when he attempted to back out of buying the company. The lawsuit even references Walter Isaacson’s biography of Musk, which quotes him as saying he would hunt every single one of Twitter’s C-suite executives until the day they die.

A court filing confirms that the parties have reached a settlement, though the specific terms are not yet clear.

This is not the only case where Musk has been sued over severance payments. He recently settled a separate class action lawsuit concerning six thousand laid-off Twitter employees. Many of these former staff members complained that they received incomplete severance payments or did not receive any severance at all.
