Elon Musk reportedly wants a June SpaceX IPO to align with his birthday, theplanets

Elon Musk is reportedly targeting a June timeframe for the highly anticipated SpaceX initial public offering. According to the Financial Times, the billionaire hopes to align the offering with both his birthday on June 28th and a rare early June planetary alignment of Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter.

Whenever it occurs, the SpaceX IPO is expected to be one of the largest in history. The company is looking to raise at least 50 billion dollars at a staggering 1.5 trillion dollar valuation, though these figures are subject to change. This capital is sought to fund the development of its Starship rocket, which is central to the company’s goal of reaching Mars.

SpaceX is already one of the nation’s most valuable private companies. It last conducted a secondary share sale in December, which would value the company at approximately 800 billion dollars.
