Deezer launched its annual recap feature, “My Deezer Year 2025,” on Monday. This release is similar to Spotify Wrapped but arrives earlier than the annual summaries from competitors like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. It provides listeners with a detailed overview of their favorite songs, artists, albums, and genres for the year.
The feature offers users a look at their top tracks, top artists, favorite albums, and the total time spent listening to their most-played artist and song. This year’s edition introduces a new “romantic comedy” theme for its visual presentation. Deezer states that as users explore their listening habits, they will feel as if they are starring in a romantic comedy, complete with scenes like a “meet cute,” with narration guiding them through the story.
The experience is divided into three episodes. The first episode, titled “Meet Cute,” highlights the new artists a user discovered throughout the year. The second episode, “Love Triangle,” features the user’s top three artists. The final episode, “Happily Ever After,” showcases their favorite tracks and provides a personalized playlist for continued listening.
This year’s approach differs from last year’s “My Deezer Year 2024,” which offered a different interactive experience where users could choose between being “roasted” or “hyped up” based on their music preferences.
Similar to previous years, the 2025 recap includes a personalized quiz where users answer compatibility questions based on their musical tastes. They can share their results with friends to find musical matches. Users can also create their own quizzes by entering their favorite genre, three songs, and a top artist, then see which friends share their preferences. Notably, this is the first year that even non-Deezer users can create these quizzes, a move likely intended to encourage more people to download the app and share their experiences on social media.
“My Deezer Year 2025” is now available in the Deezer app on iOS and Android devices. Deezer also released some statistics, highlighting that on average, Deezer users globally listened to 122.8 hours of music over the past year, streaming over 691 songs from 402 artists and discovering 357 new tracks.
