Kering confirmed a data breach on Monday that affected customers of its luxury brands, including Gucci, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, and Yves Saint Laurent. The company disclosed that hackers successfully stole sensitive customer information from its systems.
The stolen data includes customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, and the total amount of money each customer spent in stores worldwide. Kering has stated that credit card numbers were not compromised in the attack.
The company has begun contacting customers whose data was part of the breach. While Kering did not specify the exact number of affected individuals, the BBC reported that the infamous hacker group ShinyHunters is behind the attack. ShinyHunters has claimed to have stolen data connected to 7.4 million email addresses.
