Character.AI is adding a social feed to its app

Social media apps today are flooded with AI-generated videos, and AI-native apps are eager to capitalize on the trend. The latest to join this movement is Character.AI, which announced on Monday that it is introducing a social feed to its mobile apps. This feature allows users to create AI characters and interact with them.

The social feed, initially launched on the company’s web platform in June, enables users to share images, videos, and chatbots with others. Users can also post snippets of their conversations with AI characters, generate AI images based on their chats, or even have their characters debate topics in live streams.

Additionally, the feed includes access to Character.AI’s generative video model, AvatarFX, which lets users create video clips using text prompts and images and share them on the platform.

Karandeep Singh, CEO of Character.AI, stated that the new feed blurs the line between creators and consumers. Users can enjoy content passively or actively engage by continuing stories or crafting new adventures.

Character.AI isn’t the first to explore social media integration. Earlier this year, video generation app Pika released an invite-only app that allows users to create and share AI-generated videos.
