Big Tech to work with Trump administration to build digital health ecosystem

The Trump administration announced on Wednesday that it has secured commitments from Google, OpenAI, Amazon, Anthropic, and Apple to begin developing a digital health ecosystem. The initiative will focus on two main areas: establishing a framework to simplify information sharing between patients and providers, and creating personalized tools to help individuals access health resources more easily.

These tools will include apps for managing conditions like diabetes and obesity, AI-powered assistants for tasks such as symptom checking and appointment scheduling, and efforts to reduce paperwork by digitizing certain processes.

Both Democrats and Republicans have previously attempted to streamline data sharing within the U.S. healthcare system, but technological limitations have hindered progress. Now, over 60 companies have pledged to contribute to this new health initiative, with results anticipated by early 2026.
