Beehiiv expands into podcasting, taking aim at Patreon

Newsletter platform Beehiiv is launching native podcast hosting. Creators can now host, distribute, and monetize their podcasts directly on Beehiiv, publishing episodes and tracking analytics in one place. CEO Tyler Denk says this move aligns with customer demand to consolidate tools, noting the natural overlap between newsletters and podcasts as episodic, audience-owned content.

This expansion positions Beehiiv as an all-in-one platform rivaling Substack and Patreon. A key advantage is that Beehiiv takes no revenue cut, allowing creators to keep 100% of earnings. Podcasts can be bundled with paid newsletters or offered for free.

The platform distributes shows to Apple Podcasts and Spotify while hosting SEO-optimized pages. It provides detailed analytics and automatic transcripts. Beehiiv also plans to extend its ad network to podcasts. Several podcasts are joining at launch, with more expected soon. Denk believes newsletters are vital for podcast growth, and Beehiiv unifies these previously fragmented tools for creators.
