Apple launches $19.99 monthly AppleCare One subscription with coverage for threedevices

Apple announced on Wednesday the launch of AppleCare One, a new subscription plan priced at $19.99 per month that provides coverage for up to three Apple products. Customers can add protection for additional devices at $5.99 per month each.

Previously, customers needed to enroll each Apple device in separate AppleCare+ plans to secure coverage beyond the standard warranty. With AppleCare One, the company now offers a bundled approach, simplifying coverage across multiple products.

AppleCare One includes all the benefits of AppleCare+, such as unlimited repairs for accidents like drops or spills, 24/7 access to Apple experts for support, and battery coverage. This new plan also expands theft and loss protection beyond the iPhone to cover iPads and Apple Watches.

For the first time, Apple is allowing customers to add AppleCare coverage to Apple products they already own. Under this subscription, customers can include most devices up to four years old, provided they are in good condition. To verify a device’s condition, a diagnostic check may be required, either through the customer’s iPhone or iPad or by visiting an Apple Store.

Apple explained that AppleCare One pricing remains the same regardless of which Apple products are covered. This means customers can enroll their iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch together and save up to $11 per month compared to buying separate AppleCare+ plans for each device. For example, if a customer buys AppleCare One when purchasing a new MacBook Pro and adds their iPhone to the plan, they will immediately save money by avoiding multiple plans. Additional savings and value come with including more devices, such as an Apple Watch.

It is important to note that only devices linked to a customer’s Apple account can be covered under AppleCare One.

For users who only need protection for a single device, AppleCare+ remains available. Additionally, the new theft and loss coverage for the Apple Watch and iPad will be included with both AppleCare One and AppleCare+ plans, allowing customers the flexibility to choose coverage that fits their needs.

AppleCare One will be available starting Thursday in the United States. Consumers can sign up directly on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac, or by visiting an Apple Store.
