AMC previews its new show, ‘The Audacity,’ focused on Silicon Valley

At CES 2026, AMC debuted clips from its upcoming TV series “The Audacity.” The show is created by Jonathan Glatzer, a TV writer and producer known for shows like “Succession,” “Better Call Saul,” and “Bloodline.” This new series will focus on how the men and women of Silicon Valley are shaping the world we live in today.

Dan McDermott, chief content officer at AMC Networks and president of AMC Studios, explained the show’s importance at the Variety Entertainment Summit at CES. He stated that these individuals are literally laying the cement on the freeway we all drive down with innovations like AI, data collection, and social media. In his opinion, there is no more important group to take a deep-dive look at than the people in Silicon Valley who are shaping our daily lives.

Actor Billy Magnussen, who stars in the series, noted that Silicon Valley is defining humanity in our modern era. He suggested it is the perfect place to set a dark comedy, as it is the place actively developing our society.

The show will also star Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Simon Helberg, and Rob Corddry. It takes place in a fictional universe where no real company names are used, and no high-profile tech figures will make cameo appearances. However, the stories may still feel familiar. For instance, Simon Helberg’s character is a maladjusted genius working on an AI therapy app for teenagers, while he himself is a recluse who neglects his own teenage daughter.

Helberg says that loneliness is at the heart of all the characters. They are all trying to connect, but they are attempting to do so through technology, which comes with its own pitfalls.

Two new clips from the show were streamed at the event, but recording was not allowed. In one clip, an enthusiastic Billy Magnussen pitches Zach Galifianakis while he is eating at a restaurant. Galifianakis never responds and eventually cuts him off by stabbing him in the hand with a fork. Another clip showed Simon Helberg’s character completely missing an opportunity to relate to his daughter. Instead, he uses her facial expression of annoyance to train his AI.

The show premieres on Sunday, April 12, on AMC and AMC+.
